**The neighbourhood**
Surrounded by trees, close to the water and with palm trees growing in people's gardens, the neighbourhood sometimes feels almost like Ticino. ZHdK is a 15-minute walk along the Limmat and through the greenery; Hardbrücke and Röschibachplatz are around 10 minutes away, and Käferberg is a 20-minute walk uphill.
**A little about your future roommate**
I'm Lorena (she/they), 32, an art historian and cultural anthropologist. My everyday essentials include coffee out of a džezva, the NTS Breakfast Show with Flow, cooking, crunchy peanut butter and somatic workouts. Sometimes I’m quite out and about, heading to concerts, performances and exhibition openings. Lately, I’ve also been getting in touch with my crafty side and experimenting with all kinds of materials.
I imagine our home as a little oasis – a safe space where we can recharge, feel at ease and take care of one another. A place where we can be ourselves, talk openly and make room for different needs and moods. I love having time to rewind and do my own thing, but I’m equally into warm, chatty shared-living vibes: cooking together, movie nights, playing games or getting crafty when it feels right. No pressure to do everything together, just the feeling that we’re happy to share a home.
I don’t have that much furniture yet, so I’m super excited to make this place our own together. If you have furniture looking for a new home, even better! I’m into secondhand finds, furniture with a story, plants and all the little things that make a place feel personal and lived-in.
Queer-friendly is a must. I’d love to live with someone who shares intersectional queer-feminist values and is curious about questioning the systems we live in. I value open communication, mutual care and taking responsibility for our shared spaces. Coming from a Balkan household, cleanliness is practically in my genes. I’m a non-smoker, but there’s a huge balcony for your cigarettes. I love a mix of perspectives and cultural backgrounds – and if you happen to have Balkan roots too: hajde idemooo.
If this sounds like your kind of place, I'd love to hear a little about you and what matters to you in a shared home. <33
**Special Note: Possibility of taking over the entire flat**
The whole apartment could potentially be available for CHF 2,300/month. The rental contract is open-ended, but the main tenants are currently planning to move back in around April 2028. Whether and when that will actually happen is still uncertain, and it's also not yet clear whether I'll be able to stay myself. So if you're interested in taking over the whole flat, please get in touch too!
